01 Challenge

Make fashion tech feel premium, not gimmicky

Luxury and fashion-led digital experiences needed to feel interactive, polished and browser-accessible while also supporting digital garments, branded spaces and exploratory metaverse commerce workflows.

02 Approach

Balance ambition with delivery constraints

As technology lead on this stream of work, I focused on making the platform technically viable and user-friendly, balancing WebGL delivery constraints with richer interactive presentation.

03 Execution

Interactive 3D foundations for branded environments

The work covered Unity development, WebGL optimisation, experience flow, interaction design, and the technical foundations needed to support virtual environments and digital fashion tooling inside a commercially credible platform.

04 Outcome

Early mover advantage with better presentation

The result helped position VLGE as an early mover in 3D fashion and metaverse commerce, giving brands a more interactive way to explore digital presentation, garments and immersive branded environments.

Technical delivery

How the product was shaped

The platform explored fashion as interactive digital product rather than a gallery of rendered garments. Browser delivery, scene tooling, digital-asset presentation and commerce-facing UX all had to work together without the friction of a specialist installation.

A scene system, not a fixed showroom

The technical foundation needed to support changing garments, environments and branded content rather than one baked experience. Separating reusable interaction, content and scene modules made it possible to evolve the platform without rebuilding every journey and provided a clearer route from creative asset to customer-facing presentation.

Making 3D acceptable in a browser

Fashion imagery creates pressure for large textures, detailed materials and high visual quality. WebGL delivery required disciplined asset budgets, level-of-detail decisions, texture and shader review, scene loading strategy and profiling on ordinary laptops. Visual polish only mattered if the target audience could reach it without a heavy installation.

Product UX around spatial content

Navigation, selection and product information had to remain understandable while users moved through a 3D space. My role connected the runtime architecture to those commercial journeys, ensuring technical decisions supported discovery and branded storytelling rather than leaving the customer to operate a generic game interface.
