01 Challenge

The product problem

Small technical experiments are valuable evidence, but scattered demos are difficult for clients and collaborators to understand. The goal was to turn a collection of prototypes into a coherent, searchable product showcase.

02 Approach

Turning complexity into a usable product

I created a gallery organised around recognisable categories including product, retail, spatial capture, training, simulation, live activations and data interfaces. Each experience is framed by the problem it helps make visible rather than by technology alone.

03 Execution

What I designed and built

The site provides search, category filters and a growing collection of browser-native experiences. The editorial message—complex ideas become easier to trust when people can see them—connects the experiments directly to Simam Digital’s commercial approach.

04 Outcome

What the POC proves

Playground acts as a practical R&D portfolio within the wider portfolio. It demonstrates sustained experimentation across web graphics and immersive technology while giving visitors a low-friction way to explore working examples.

Technical delivery

How the product was shaped

The Playground is a capability lab: many small WebGL, WebGPU, WebXR, physics and AI experiments organised so useful technical learning does not disappear into isolated demos.

Experiments isolated by capability

Graphics, XR and AI demos often require incompatible browser features or heavy dependencies. Each experiment is treated as an isolated module with its own support expectations, preventing one failure from breaking the gallery and allowing capability detection or fallbacks to be added at the boundary.

A catalogue with engineering memory

Metadata records the technique, platform and purpose of each experiment so the collection is searchable evidence rather than an image wall. This makes it easier to reuse a proven interaction, rendering method or integration in a later POC and preserves the constraints discovered during exploration.

Research that shortens delivery

The commercial value of a lab is speed and risk reduction. Small tests answer whether a browser, headset or rendering approach is viable before it enters a client roadmap. The Playground presents that work honestly as experimentation while showing the breadth of systems I can evaluate and combine.
